HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM THE ECPS

STAFF AND STUDENTS!

A Visit with Mrs. Claus

Students in Mrs. Kluth's first grade recently visited with Mrs. Claus. The students took part in a video conference with Mrs. Claus at the North Pole. Mrs. Claus read them a story and took time to answer their questions. The students were thrilled with their visit and were amazed that Mrs. Claus knew things that only Santa or his wife could know about them. Thank you to Mrs. Kluth for arranging this special visit !

PTO Holiday Gift Shop

The EC PTO made it possible for all of our kids at Lybrook to do their holiday shopping right at school. The students were able to visit the holiday gift shop and purchase items for all of their family members and friends. PTO volunteers helped students select their presents and even gift wrapped them. A BIG thank you to all of the PTO officers and members for making this holiday season very special for our kids! We appreciate all that you do for the Lybrook teachers and students!

Lybrook  Welcomes Mr. & Mrs. Claus

Kindergarten, Young Fives and Preschool students were recently surprised by some very special visitors. Mr. & Mrs. Claus came all the way from the North Pole to stop by their classrooms and visit with each class. EVERY student also received a Christmas present from Mr. & Mrs. Claus.  A BIG thank you to Mrs. Hart and members of the newly formed EC Lion's Club for arranging this special visit. The kids were surprised by their visitors and thrilled with an early Christmas present !

PTO Cookie Dough Fundraiser

The EC PTO sponsored a cookie dough fundraiser this fall and raised close to $5,000. Students who sold ten or more items were rewarded with a surprise money draw. Each child chose an envelope that contained different dollar amounts ranging from $1 - $20. These students were very happy with their reward. A big thank you to PTO and all of the students who participated in this fundraiser. All Lybrook students will be treated later in the year to a Mega-Party to celebrate this successful venture.

Notre Dame Student Visits Lybrook

Notre Dame student and football player, RaeShon McNeil recently visited with Lybrook fifth graders.  RaeShon is an Industrial Design student in Mr. Paul Down's (our principal's husband) program at Notre Dame University in South Bend, Indiana.   Mr. McNeil talked to the students about the importance of working hard, studying and following your dreams.  RaeShon  will be playing in the Hawaii Bowl with the ND football team over the holidays. Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Down for bringing this inspirational young man to our school.

Holiday Wishes for our Troops

Second grade students in Mrs. Berget, Mrs. Cooper and Mr. Keathley's classes participated in a "Giving Project" for the holidays. In place of a class gift exchange the students donated money to send items to two second grade parents (and their fellow troop members) who are currently serving over seas in Iraq. The students sent phone cards, gum, chocolates and more to the soldiers to help brighten their holiday. What a generous way of saying Happy Holidays!  You make us proud second graders!

Thank You !

Lybrook teachers recently submitted Christmas "wish lists" to the Herald Palladium newspaper requesting items for their classrooms. Pictured above are students from Mrs. Hart's kindergarten and Mr. Keathley's second grade with some of the items they received. Classrooms received puzzles, games, playdough, stickers and more from generous community members, family, friends and even from "Secret Santas."  All of the teachers and students want to thank everyone who has donated items to their classrooms. You have helped make this Holiday season enjoyable for the kids at Lybrook!

Happy Holidays

The teachers and students at Lybrook enjoy decorating the hallways at school for the holidays. Here are just a few of the many Christmas projects that hung in our hallways and bulletin boards in the past few weeks. We want to wish everyone a very Happy Holiday season!
