Lybrook Elementary School is a small town school with a big family feeling.  Our elementary has a dedicated, experienced and caring staff that is willing to go the extra mile to help students. We have a strong curriculum that is aligned with Michigan grade level content expectations. Our students perform above the Michigan Educational Assessment Program target scores that are set by the state of Michigan. >Versión Española del Pacto

Parent involvement is an integral part of Lybrook Elementary. Parents are invited to participate in a variety of activities and part of the parent function is information exchange.

*Parents are informed of Lybrook policies at the beginning of the year.
*Parent, teacher, student, and administrator read and sign a parent compact. This is also translated into Spanish to allow all parents questions and input.
*Parents are involved in understanding the grade level expectations during a parent/teacher meeting at the beginning of the year. Parents have the opportunity to give input regarding what they feel is important to include in our curriculum.
*Migrant parents are involved in review of curriculum, MSIX, priority for service during parent advisory council meetings.
*Parents of children who are identified 'at risk' have at least three opportunities during the school year to meet with Title Specialists for information regarding ideas and strategies to help with the core areas or homework.
*Parents are invited to be a part of Lybrook School Improvement Team. The team meets to discuss topics regarding DIBELS and SWIS data. Best practices & strategies, Ed Yes, assessment of needs, school improvement plan etc.
*Parents are surveyed and informed about volunteer possibilities.
*Parents and community members are invited to be a part of reading to Lybrook students.
*Parent Teacher Conferences--twice per year, parents are invited to be a part of learning about their child's progress and to voice concerns regarding academics as well as behavior.
*Parent Teacher Organization--parents are invited through newsletters to become involved in this organization.
*KID SAVERS--parents are invited to be a part of a Student Assistance Team in helping us gather information regarding their child who may be 'at risk'.
